What are the top injection moulding machine manufacturers
When it comes to the injection moulding process, there are many different types of machines to choose from, whether it’s hydraulic, electrical or mechanical. There are also a number of machine manufacturers to choose from.
Here is a list of some of the world’s top companies to give you an overview of the organisations and the machines they produce.
ARBURG
Having created its first injection moulding machine in the fifties, Arburg is one of the most established injection moulding machine manufacturers in the market. It’s also one of the largest, with 33 locations across the world, with its largest production site still at its family factory in Lossburg.
Arburg’s main injection moulding range is known as ALLROUNDER which, as the name suggests, can offer customers a number of different machine options, including cube mould and hybrid machines. Alongside the machinery, the company also offers additional service packages and additive manufacturing and turnkey systems, which can be delivered and installed globally.
ENGEL
Similarly, the Engel group has nine locations across the globe, meaning that it can provide a worldwide service too. Offering both hydraulic and electric models, Engel promises a clamping force from its machines of between 280 kN and 55,000 kN.
Having grown from a family-run business, the company provides a range of turnkey solutions to give customers the most value from its machines. It also offers a range of specialist injection moulding processes itself that will suit many different materials, which is perhaps why it’s one of the biggest manufacturers on the market.
Haitian International
One of the major Asian manufacturers, Haitian International offers both electrical and hydraulic machinery and a service that employs 6,390 people internationally. By putting its focus on innovations, details and customer service, Haitian says it enables the people that buy its machinery to be as flexible in their manufacturing processes as possible.
This flexibility is part of the company’s focus on the future, which will provide customers with “consistency, a high degree of integration and newly defined modularity” as well as a high level of performance from its machinery.
Sumitomo Demag
After developing the first single-screw injection moulding machine in 1956, Sumitomo have continued to grow their product and service offering. Their Thuringian Wiehe factory specialises in creating small injection moulding machines with up to 1,500 kN clamping force, and its this specialisation which, it says, has led to its success across the world.
Sumitomo offer a range of injection moulded machinery and some automated and robotic systems. With an approach that it both future-facing and focused on meeting customer needs, they claim to have more than 65,000 machines worldwide and are continuing to grow.
