The pins top has been slightly tapered to optimise line contact in the mounting bore while providing appropriate clearance during workpiece loading and unloading. Furthermore, the press-fit feature keeps the pins in place even when subjected to vibration or dynamic stresses.

It is easy to install by pressing them into a precisely drilled hole with a threaded hole in the middle to take a tapered screw; once in place, it expands to form a tight and secure fit.
