Plastic rivets, also known as push-in rivets, snap rivets, pop rivets or panel clips, are fastening components commonly used in various industries and applications to securely join or attach materials together. They are particularly popular in situations where a permanent or semi-permanent connection is needed, and where traditional fasteners like screws, bolts, or nails may not be suitable or convenient.
Plastic rivets are designed for easy installation. They are inserted into pre-drilled or pre-punched holes in the materials to be fastened. The rivet is then pushed or pressed into place using hand pressure or a specialized tool. As the rivet is inserted, the barbs on the shaft expand and grip the materials securely. They come in various sizes, shapes, and configurations to accommodate different application requirements.
There are several types of plastic rivets, each designed for specific applications and requirements. Here are some common types of plastic rivets available in our range:
Push Rivets - the most basic and widely used type of plastic rivets. They consist of a cylindrical body with barbs along the shaft and a larger head that is pushed or pressed into place.
Snap Rivets - feature a unique design that allows them to snap into place, creating a secure connection without the need for tools.
Ratchet Rivets - also known as a ratcheting rivet or a ratchet clip, designed to create a secure and tight connection between two or more components. They are commonly used in applications where frequent assembly and disassembly are required, and where a reliable and adjustable connection is needed.

Key Hole Clips have a hollow interior that is shaped like a key hole. This design allows the clip to collapse more completely for easy finger-pressure assembly. The tapered, bullet-style point of the rivet clip helps guide into a panel.
These clips provide good electrical insulation. They also have resistance to vibration, abrasion and corrosion - making them a durable and cost-effective fastening solution. Available for a range of hole diameters and panel thicknesses.
Pop Rivets are a convenient fastener used mainly when panel access is limited or restricted to one side. This means they tend to be installed on the rear (blind) side of the application, allowing the components to be joined together.
Depending on the nature of the application, these rivets can also be used instead of welds, adhesives, screws, nuts and bolts. Pop Rivets permanently fix two materials together. They are ideal for thin applications, and suitable for materials including; woods, metals and plastics.
Easily installed, with a hammer or with a special riveting tool. Pop Rivets are inserted into a tight panel hole, passing through the two materials being riveted.
Our Pop Rivet range is strong, but light in weight. It offers good electrical insulating properties, as well as resistance from vibration, abrasion and corrosion. It also features chemical resistance.
Canoe Clips are a low-cost fastener, designed to work in the same way as a rivet or a screw. The design of these clips means they are easier to remove than other rivets. The range features a variety of styles, including those with a fully hollow anchor, or those that have a partially hollow anchor.
Suitable for front panel mounting, these economical clips easily snap into round holes and cover a smaller surface area. They are ideal for securely holding a variety of materials in place, including both metals and plastics. No tools are required for installation - simply apply thumb pressure over the flat round-shaped head.
Our range offers good electric insulation, as well as vibration, abrasion and corrosion resistance. They can be used on electronic, automotive or machine applications. Canoe Clips insert neatly into panel holes, and are ideal for long-term signs and displays. They can be removed and reused on occasion; however, thanks to their extra firm grip, they are better suited to applications that do not change very often.
Countersunk Rivets are used in countersunk holes and other applications that require a flat finish. Their design allows them to sit flush to a surface, meaning the rivet head will not protrude once installed. They are ideal for sliding track applications.
These rivets also benefit from a tamper resistant design and they are able to accommodate countersunk hole specification DIN ISO 7721.
Drive Fasteners feature a hollow body that increases flexibility during the insertion and removal process - making them easy to install and remove. The grommet expands as the pin is inserted, providing a snug fit.

Folding Leg Push-In Rivets have a foldable leg design that provides a secure grip for a range of applications and materials.
Pushing the pin into the rivet body causes the legs to expand outwards, allowing them to get a firm grip on the material in the assembly. The rivet legs expand to a distance of 18.6mm.
This expansion allows the rivet to cover a larger surface area, but as a result has a weaker tensile strength. This makes these rivets more suited to thinner applications, such as cardboard boxes and other porous materials. Once installed, the rivet cannot be removed from the outside of the box.
Heat Sink Rivets are spring mounted. They are used to fasten a heat sink to a processor chip on a PCB. The metal spring provides continuous pressure to the heat sink until thermal adhesive cures.
Our range has two options. One has a Chrome Plated Steel spring and the other a Stainless Steel spring. The Stainless Steel option can also be installed using a cross head screwdriver.
Mounting Button Push In Rivets create a tight locking solution that mates two objects together. They are ideal for applications where metal fasteners cannot be used, such as Electrical and PCB applications.
The tensions wings help lock the rivet securely in place and cover a wider surface area. The rivet can only be removed from the underside of the board.
Our range features two types. Type 1 snap-locks into a 4mm diameter hole and Type 2 snap-locks into a 4.8 mm diameter hole.
These Push-In Rivets feature a pin for easy finger-pressure installation. They are a versatile rivet that can be mounted in round, square or rectangular holes. Square hole mounting is used for anti-rotation applications.
